The Golf team has 14 members this season, divided into an A and B team. They have been practicing and lifting since March 14th, and also using the brand new simulator in the Spanish room. Their successful season last year included 2 qualifiers at States, and head coach Mr. Gaertner winning Coach of the Year. The team hopes to match and better that success this year, with goals to win the TVC and once again have State qualifiers. one of them are returning. Look for Junior Giorgio Fabiano and Sophomore Alex McCarthy to help lead the team this year in achieving those goals. McCarthy, fresh off his bowling State title, placed 5^th out of 108 golfers for the Division IV MHSAA Golf Finals last year. While he enjoys bowling, golf is what he considers to be “his sport.” Said McCarthy, “I want to continue bowling in my future, but my dream is to become a professional golfer. Being a member of the (golf) team has taught me how to be a leader, and how to work together to accomplish our goals.”

The Golf team’s first meet is April 26th at St. Louis.
