Back in October, the Science Olympiad team began their 2023 season to begin prepping for their first round of invitationals coming up on January 28, in Haslett, February 18 at University of Michigan, and regionals on March 11, in Frankenmuth. The team consists of 14 students and is being led by science teacher, Ms. Wagner. They are competing in a wide variety of different events hoping to bring back some wins. The events include building and testing what you built and others are test based so you take tests on the topics you have studied. The team meets every Saturday morning for an hour to connect with their partners and make sure you are both on the same page.

Talking to Senior Science Olympiad member Jessenia Olascuaga, she says ” I think we are going to do well, and that we are very well prepared for our first competition.”

Last year the Science Olympiad team brought home a total of  twenty-two medals, this year they are hoping to bring back even more as they head into their regional competition in March, and qualify for States which takes place in May at Michigan State University.
