“Find out how much God has given you and from it take what you need; the remainder is needed by others.” Saint Augustine

The Saginaw County Crop Walk is a great way to both get involved with your community and to get involved with hunger awareness. On Sunday, October 14th, you will have an opportunity to walk to help those in need of food. The Crop Walk will begin at 1:30PM at the Saginaw YMCA, in which you will be able to walk the 3-mile loop either once or twice. In addition, there is a rest stop at Holy Family and an opportunity to stop for a prayer and/or picture at the Father Nouvel rock. If you’re interested in joining the crop walk, make sure that you find sponsors, such as your family members, friends, neighbors, etc.

25% of the money you raise will stay local, and provide for agencies such as: the East Side Soup Kitchen, Hidden Harvest, the City Rescue Mission of Saginaw, and the Samaritas Community Center. The other 75% will be used to help with other food programs and disaster relief programs both nationally and globally.

“What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?  Can that faith save him?  If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well, ” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it?  So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” (James 2:14-17)
