Groundhog Day

As many of you may know, the beginning of February determines whether spring is on its way or if more snow is coming. On February 2, 2014 Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog, saw his shadow meaning six more weeks of winter. Apparently, if it’s cloudy when the groundhog emerges, he will leave his burrow, suggesting that winter will be over soon. If it’s sunny out, the groundhog will evidently see his shadow and be scared of it, so he goes back into his burrow while winter drags on for six more weeks. So don’t put your coats, scarves, and gloves away too quickly because winter is still here. Although many of us have spring fever, I think we can all live with snow a little longer especially if that means more snow days in the near future.
