Black history month is an annual observance in United States, Canada, and United Kingdom, in which they remember the important black events and people. It was first started as “Negro History Week” , in 1926, by Carter G. Woodson, who was a African American educator, scholar, publisher, and historian. It became a long month celebration in 1976. One of the interesting people, that is widely recognized during black history month is George Washington Carver who was an inventor and botanist. He is known for creating one of America’s favorite foods: peanut butter. He also created 300 derivative products from peanuts, some of the products include cheese, coffee, milk, plastics, ink, flour, etc. He is only one of the many African Americans who are recognized during black history month.
