It is time to bring in the new hockey season full of hope for the F.N.V. Griffins. In case you did not know, the hockey team is comprised of students from Freeland, Nouvel, and Valley Luthern. Nouvel has is represented by Seniors Sean Nowosatka and captain Kenneth Kujawa. These two  led the team in points last year with 44 for Sean and 39 for Kenny. They are accompanied by sophomores Gabe Fausnaugh and John Paul LeFevre. The Griffins currently have 2 wins and 2 losses so far this season. They had a loss against Davison with a score of 0 to 7 and a loss to Gabriel Richard 0 to 6. The Griffins beat Port Huron 9-1 with help from Sean Nowosatka who had two of the goals. The hockey team also beat Grosse Pointe North in a close game of 5 to 4. Adam Rivette from Freeland led the team in scoring with 3 goals while Sean Contributed with one goal. Kenny said, “We have started okay this year and we hope to keep on improving from our hard work and effort.” The team’s next game is this Wednesday at 7:30 against Bay Area Thunder in Bay City. The next one will be on Saturday against Petoskey at the Saginaw Bay Ice Arena.
