This year the Spring play, which is put on by the Drama Department, will be the classic; Les Miserables. The story is about a man named Jean Valjean who is imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread. He is later released by Javert and the rest of the play it is Javert trying to catch Javert and bring him back to justice. Playing the character of Jean Valjean is the spectacular Johnny Metiva ’17. Johnny has performed in all of the productions since he was a freshman. Said Metiva, on how he thinks the play will go, “I think the show will be great considering all of the high level actors and our great overall vocal performance. It should be a wonderful show!” Filling the role of Javert is Shawn Penning ’17, who also has brought a lot of talent to the department on and of the stage. Some other notable performers are Juliette Shaheen ’17 who plays the role of Eponine, and Niki Sasiela ’17 who plays Fantine. This will be Nikki’s very first play production.

The play will be performed March 30-31, and April 1 all at 7:00pm. There will also be a matinee performance which will be held on April 2 at 3:00pm. Tickets will be sold at the door as well as in advance with the option to reserve seating by emailing rkreger@sacschools.org . Adult tickets are $10 while Students/Seniors tickets are $8.
