Under the helm of the new coach Sean Williams, the girl’s basketball team opened their season up with a dominating win over Tawas last Wednesday. The girls held a commanding lead the whole game and ended with an astounding 73-38 victory. The Lady Panthers kept the momentum going as they traveled to John Glenn Westland last Friday. The two hour trip produced a convincing win over the Rockets 55-25. Laurel Jacqmain led the team with 28 points. The ladies then traveled back home to play their second home game against the Eagles of Frankenmuth this past Monday. In a nail bitter, the Panthers were beat in the closing seconds 49-47. “The loss to Frankenemuth last night was a turning point for us as a team,” said senior captain Alex Joynt after the tough loss, “it will help us to focus on the journey back to the Breslin.” The ladies are back at Nouvel this Thursday to play Flint Northwestern. Come out to support the ladies as they make yet another run to the playoffs.
