After lots of hard work and many miles ran, the cross country season had finally come to an end. The Regional meet was held on October 31st. The team’s goal for the day was to do their best and qualify for states. At the end of the meet, many of the runners had made their best times of the season. Even with the hard work, the full team was not able to qualify, however, Meghan Matekel, senior, and Matt Bartels, junior were both able to qualify for the state finals the following week. Meghan ran one of he best times of the season with 20:30. At States, both Meghan and Matt competed very hard. Matt was able to place in the top 30 at states which was good enough to receive a medal. Placing in the top 30 at states requires very hard work and a lot of determination. With the season over, the team looks forward to hopefully another good season next year. With many returning runners, the future for the team looks bright!

The ladies Swim team finished their season strong, placing 8th overall in their last meet. The team had many swimmers improve their times at the SVSU meet. Seniors Zoila Ontiveros and Claire Krajkowski both enhanced their sprints and Freshman Micaela Lewis had a great final heat, nearly qualifying for States in breaststroke.  Congratulations on a great season ladies!
