Dunking Into The New Season

The Nouvel Varsity Boys Basketball team is back in action! The seniors on the team this year are Max Hammis, Ryan Schwartzly, Max Novak, and Jamario Green. The team captains are Max Hammis, Ryan Schwartzly, and MJ Yeager. 

The Panthers just took the win in a close game against Hemlock on Tuesday. Donny Yeager scored 18 points to pace Nouvel, with Preston Otter scoring 12. Max Hammis contributed 9 points and 11 rebounds as well. The team also recently played a very close game against Genesee Christian on Saturday in the SVSU Showcase. Unfortunately, they lost by three points but fought hard. Despite the tough loss, the Panthers won exciting games against Garber and Reese last week. Against Reese, MJ and Donny Yeager lead their team in points, with MJ scoring 42 points and Donny scoring 28. Preston led the defense with 8 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Against Garber, MJ led all scorers with 22 points and Donny added 14. Preston’s dunk in the fourth quarter paved the way for Nouvel’s close victory! Come cheer on the Panthers this week on Friday at Valley Lutheran and next week on Tuesday (12/20) at Cass City.
