The varsity boys basketball team is looking to freshen up just before heading into playoffs. The boys are son an upswing with a record of 10-8, and two star players on the team have won player of the week within the past 3 weeks.

Jonathan Tunney topped the Mlive player of the week for January 24-29. Tunney scored in double figures in all three games that week including two double-doubles. He had a particularly impressive 27-point, 18-rebound performance against Valley Lutheran. He has continued his strong performance this week with another double-double on Tuesday and 18 points on Thursday.

Nouvel’s sharpshooting sophomore guard MJ Yeager who ran away with the award for his play the week of February 7-12 including scoring 32 points in one game. He got 30 of those points via 10, three-point shots. He also reached double-digits in scoring all three games that week.

The team is back on again February 25th. The theme for the game is ESPN out and it is also senior night. Be sure to wish luck to all the boys on the basketball team and congratulate Tunney and MJ when you see them.
