Nouvel Baseball: The Invitational

After a hard fought series against St. Louis last Monday which they split, the Nouvel baseball team got a much needed week of practice and rest headed into the prestigious Nouvel Invitational on Saturday. Clearly, the Panthers benefitted from this as they beat the MLS Cardinals by mercy rule 13-2. Senior star Jack Kujawa pitched a complete game no-hitter, and the offense was finally able to get off the ground. When asked about his performance Kujawa said, “I can’t feel my arm, but I’m glad we got a W”. Unfortunately for the Panthers, this success was short lived. In their other game on Saturday the Panthers fell to the Bullock Creek Lancers 12-1, with senior Ben Clevenger recording the game’s only RBI. The team’s next games are at home against Standish-Sterling on Tuesday, followed by more home games against Freeland on Thursday. On Friday, the Panthers will take on the John Glenn Bobcats at Dow Diamond at 7:35 P.M., and tickets are selling for 5 dollars apiece! If you’re interested please see Coach Larson. With some exciting games against good competition, the Panthers will need all the help they can get. If you can, come out to some games and cheer on the Panthers, it makes all the difference!
