Due to the cold weather and icy conditions last week, the track and field meet was cancelled. However, the track meet Tuesday was perfect, with temps in the 50s, sun shining, and a slight breeze, as well. The meet was hosted by Nouvel, who competed with John Glenn, Pinconning, and SASA. Nouvel took first place in the men’s 4×800 relay, men’s 4×200 relay, men’s 4×100 relay, and men’s 4×400 relay. Nouvel also took second in the women’s 4×200 relay and women’s 4×100 relay. Tyler Sprague, ’17,  took first place in the men’s 100 meter and second in the men’s 200 meter races. Brianna Greene, ’19, took first place in both the women’s 100 meter and 200 meter races. Madison Sheridan, ’17, took third place in both women’s 100 meter and 200 meter races. Sergio Molinar, ’19, placed first in the men’s 400 meter race with a time of 55.78 seconds. Senior Donovan Gomez happily took first in the men’s 800 meter race with a time of 2:07.75. Cecelia Gross, ’19, took first in the women’s 3200 meter race. Collin Hendricks, ’18, took third place in the men’s long jump and first place in men’s pole vault. Senior Lauren Nowosatka took first place in the women’s pole vault and third place in the women’s long jump. Charley Hengesbach, ’17, placed first in women’s shot put and second in women’s discus. Senior Jacob Gray took third place for men’s shot put and second for men’s discus. Robi Stuart, ’17, took first place in the men’s shot put category with a throw of 49’05”, almost a foot away from his personal record. The Nouvel track and field team represented our school with dignity and high standards, also getting a great start to the beginning of this season. Make sure to come out to the meets to support your fellow panthers! The next meet is scheduled for Friday, April 15th.
