The Panthers have concluded their season after a hard fought, 14-7 loss against the Freeland falcons. The Panthers played their best game of the season, but unfortunately it did not end in their favor. The Panthers ended their 2014 Season with a 4-5 record. Better luck next year Panthers! GO BLUE!

After an impressive victory over St. Charles, winning 3 of 4, the Novel squad’s season was put to an end by a talented Valley Lutheran team in the District title game. All 3 of the games played were incredibly close, but a couple mistakes were the deciding factor in Nouvel’s defeat. ” Our season started out bumpy but we picked it up and left it all out on the court against Valley.” says senior Cara Jacobs. Although the season did not go as they wanted it to, a lot of underclassmen got good reps throughout the year, and the future looks bright.

The boys tennis team competed at Regionals in Midland, hosted by Essexville Garber. The team took fourth place out of 10 teams. Taehlor Rapin, the number 2 singles player, made it to the finals but lost to Joey Seder of Frankenmuth. Stone Kelly and Grant Hoffman also took second place in the number 1 doubles flight. They lost to a very good Essexville Garber team, but Stone and Grant competed well. The team had a great year, but fell short of making it to states. Great season gentlemen!

A loss was the result of the first playoff District game.  The boy’s soccer season came to an end on October 14th with a loss against SASA.  They were ready and excited for the playoffs but as they have learned, not everything turns out how you want.  The seniors are sad that their high school soccer career is over, but wish the team best of luck next year.  The soccer team has had a whirlwind of emotions this season with a record of 2-12-1. Senior night was on October 7th against Carman-Ainsworth. Unfortunately senior night resulted in a loss. The spotlight this season is on senior Logan Troester. Troester’s quickness and ball awareness has allowed him to score a plethora of goals for Nouvel this season. Great job boy’s! We wish the seniors a great rest of the year and good luck in their future ventures after high school, and good luck to next year’s team.
