St. Patty’s Day is coming up and that means there are some fun green themed food/drink specials around Saginaw. Personally, the best part of St. Patrick’s day for me is treating myself to a shamrock shake. Below are the top 5 St. Patrick’s Day specials around town.

1. Shamrock Shake-The Shamrock Shake is a very popular seasonal green-dyed vanilla mint shake sold at McDonalds throughout the month of March. The Shake was first introduced in 1970 and has been a hit ever since. Go and get yours before it’s too late!
2. Irish Mint Yogurt- This year, Yogurt Yeti,out by SVSU,decided to join the bandwagon and offer a special mint flavored yogurt in honor of this green holiday. I enjoyed my Irish Mint Yogurt with some chocolate chips. Go make a yogurt creation with this special limited time flavor before its gone!
3. Shamrock Shake (Tonys) – The Tony’s restaurant on Gratiot in Shields offers a delicious, homemade shamrock shake this year. It is the typical mint vanilla flavor but the fact that its a homemade shake coming from a local restaurant makes it taste even better. Make sure to go try one out!
4. Free Fries- At select Burger King locations, they are handing out free fries with a side of green-dyed ketchup on March 17-18. Free fries are always a good thing so don’t miss out!
5. Bennigan’s and Beef O’ Brady’s- Both of these local restaurants are great to go to throughout the year and offer a variety of tasty foods’ however, on St. Patrick’s Day since both of these restaurants focus on the Irish heritage, they have fun, different specials each year. Stop by one of these restaurants on March 17th and see if you can get lucky with a festive special!
