The boys basketball team has made big improvements the past few weeks. Last week on January 27, the team played against Sacred Heart. Nouvel won the game 50-44. Jason Russell again led the team with 18 points during the game. Most recently though, the team played against Essexville Garber on February 2. Nouvel pulled out the win with a score of 53-49. Mitch Morley was the team leader in points this time with 14. He was followed closely by Jason Russell and Tino Rosales who both had 13 points. Their next game will be Friday February 5 at Fowler. The team is looking forward to getting things back on track and making a strong playoff push later this season.

During the season off the court the NCC Basketball program will be sponsoring a “Tree of Love and Remembrance” to help raise money to benefit the local Rescue Mission. Support this great cause by honoring or remembering a special person in your life for a donation of $5.00. Send your donation to the school’s main office, in an envelope, attention Lisa Rapin, Hoops for Homeless. Please include the name(s) of people you are recognizing. You may also stop by the “Tree of Love and Remembrance” during the boys basketball games. The “Tree” is located by the Senior lockers near the Art Room.
