District Champs!

The playoff season is here and the Lady Panthers have gotten off to a fast start. Last Monday, Nouvel beat Michigan Lutheran Seminary 57-27. Laurel Jacqmain lead the team with 17 points and Charlie Hengsbaugh contributed with an impressive 8 blocked shots. Advancing past MLS, the Panthers played SASA on Wednesday for the District Semi-final. After a slow start, the Panthers led the Dragons 12-10 at the end of the 1st quarter. Nouvel hit their stride in the second half to beat the Dragons 74-36. In the District Final, Nouvel played their cross town rival Valley Lutheran, a team they had previously beaten by over 40 points. Valley Lutheran came out to a hot start, leading Nouvel by 11 points at the end of the 1st quarter. The Panthers pulled away in the second half creating a 15 point gap. The Chargers then mounted a 4th quarter comeback that was successful in the end. Nouvel beat Valley Lutheran 54-46 to win the District Final. Their next game will be against Ithaca in Millington on Tuesday, March 10th in the Regional Semi-final.
