This edition’s Athlete Spotlight is Junior Tristen Elizalde. He is a three sport standout athlete playing varsity football, basketball, and track. Last year Tristen qualified for States for track and field for the 200m race with a time of 23.8 seconds. This year Tristen is gearing up for his junior season state push with high hopes to win it all, saying “I am very confident in my ability to perform, and I am really looking forward to the 200m dash”. His first meet is April 6th at Nouvel Catholic Central High School where he will be running the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m race. 

Track kicked off on Wednesday, March 15, with their first practice outside. The team has a total of 24 students, six seniors, seven juniors, three sophomores, and eight freshman. When asked about his freshman track season, freshman Sean Foley said “My goals are to get faster and win as much as possible, but my favorite part of track is just running with my friends.” looking forward to improvement and making states. The first home track meet will be held on April 5th, at 4pm.
