NCC Girls Soccer Kicks Off

The Nouvel Varsity Girls Soccer season has begun! NCC Athletic Director Matt Solek returns as head coach, for his eighth year, assisted by Aubrey Walker and Suj Patel. The captains of the team this year are seniors Lydia Jacobs, Emilee Rosenberg, and Iris Patel, and sophomore Julia Hamilton. Unfortunately, senior captain Iris Patel will be sidelined for the 2023 season due to her torn ACL sustained during basketball season. When asked about how she feels about being unable to play soccer her senior year, she said, “I am very sad, but am happy to still be able to support the team.”

The girls just played their first game of the season at Frankenmuth last Thursday (3/23) and won 7-3. It was an exciting first win! Lydia Jacobs led the team in goals, scoring 5. Emilee Rosenberg added a goal and two assists, and Kelsey Berthiaume got a goal as well. Come out and support the team at their next game on Monday (4/3) at Bullock Creek!
