Freshman Powerlifter Christian Lopez Places 4th

Nouvel Freshman Christian Lopez competed in the JV State Powerlifting Meet at Kearsley High School this past weekend, earning a 4th place medal. Christian was the only freshman in his weight class to medal. He completed a 355 pound squat, 245 pound bench, and a 435 pound deadlift, for a total of 1035 pounds. This was his first powerlifting competition. Said Lopez, “I had a great time and really enjoyed being there and seeing all these other kids that love to lift weights.” Lopez hopes to compete again and continue to push himself. “It is very rewarding to see all of my hard work paying off, and I’m hoping to lift more weight next time.”
