Theater Qualifies for State Competition

On February 4th, the Nouvel theater department performed “A Christmas Carol” and “Sugar Bean Sister” at the MIFA regional competition at St. John High School. They performed “A Christmas Carol” for their main stage act and “Sugar Bean Sisters” for their studio show. In both of their performances they earned runner up, which means that both shows will be moving on to the Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association (MIFA) State Theater Festival Final at Central Michigan University, February 17-18.
Junior lighting technician Derek Bauer said “Both shows went well, however there is room for improvement.”
This is the second year of competition for Nouvel since the revival of theater program, and their second time reaching the state finals.
The team is coached by Mrs. Gilbert, Judy Harper and Caleb Hopper.
