After the Boys Varsity Soccer team mercied Hemlock 8-0, the team was very confident they would mercy them again in their next game. When they faced Hemlock on October 3rd, they won with a score of 4-0. When asked about the game, captain Marco Olascuaga expressed how overconfidence played a big role in their lower-scoring win, however, he was still very proud of the team.  Moreover, parent Monica Bauer, mother of player Derek Bauer, also noticed the role of overconfidence in Monday’s game stating, “Overconfidence can make a team feel as if they don’t have to work as hard and that can cause mistakes to be made.” These mistakes are what will fuel the Boys Varsity Soccer team to put in hard work at practice to work on what Marco O. described as “finishing and transition from defense to offense.”
