The Animal Services Club welcomed a guest speaker, Joaquin Guerrero and his German shepherd, Little Chief, on April 25th, to speak to students about his career as a former police officer, search and rescue and dog trainer. Mr. Guerrero was a K-9 search and rescue officer during 9/11 and now works as a dog trainer/handler in the entertainment industry.

Mr. Guerrero is not only known for his commitment with animals but is also a published author. One of his books is called, “Michigan & Rookie Guardians of the Night.” This book’s purpose is to tell his experiences doing search and rescue during 9/11. His overall statement in the book is to share God’s call in his life to serve his community and country. Mr. Guerrero also has his own training company called “Apache Acres.”

You can learn so much more about Mr.Guerrero and the well known Little Chief, by finding them on Facebook by searching “The Adventures of Little Chief.”  Said Guerrero, “We had a great time, Little Chief and I are looking forward to visiting again!”
