Camille Wardin, varsity volleyball player gives a rundown of how she personally and as part of a team, prepares for game days.

Wardin says it’s all about how you mentally prepare, “I like to keep a clear head and to know what I expect of myself going into the game.” A good night’s rest and sleeping on the bus to keep herself energized for the matches always helps. The varsity team eats Jimmy Johns before their games along with drinking plenty of water in order to stay hydrated. Wardin says, “the team likes to get hyped by jamming to rap music, specifically Knife Talk by Drake.”

Once it is time to get serious, the Panthers like to observe the other team. This allows them to best prepare for how they need to play. Before going out on the court, Camille likes to take a few moments to herself to get in the right mindset, and the team does many warm ups such as hitting, serving, and passing drills to get their bodies ready.

Whether a win or a loss, the team keeps a good positive outlook and we discuss what we can do to be better. The Nouvel Varsity Volleyball team made it all the way to Regionals this year and, despite the loss they played with all of their Panther Power.
