Each month, NCC Panther Print will be recognizing an athlete for their outstanding leadership and skills in their particular sport. This month, Captain of the soccer team and the newest addition of the football team, Will Jarema is our candidate. Will has been a captain of the soccer team for the past two years and has led his team this year with 10 goals. Halfway through his season, Coach Boyd confronted Will about being a punter for the Panthers football team. He gladly accepted the chance to put the pads on with the boys. His first game with the football team was against Essexville-Garber and the Panthers took a 29-18 victory with Will punting off the ball for NCC five times throughout the course of the game. Jarema gives the Panthers better field position on defense and gives them a better advantage for the game with his long punts. When asked how he handles doing both sports at once he stated, ” I think i can mange it fairly well and i am glad that i can help both teams in various ways even if i am just the punter i am happy to be with all my friends out there on the field.” Will’s soccer season came to a close and he is now focusing solely on kicking for the football team. Since he joined the football team the Panthers ended the regular season with a 9-0 record heading into playoffs.
