It is always nice to have the perfect weather for a track meet because that always helps the athletes run faster, throw farther, and jump higher. The meet was hosted by Michigan Lutheran Seminary (MLS), which included MLS, St. Charles, and Nouvel! Nouvel took first place in the men’s 4×100 relay, men’s 4×200 relay, and the men’s 4×400 relay. Nouvel also took second place in the women’s 4×100 relay and women’s 4×100 relay. Brianna Greene, ’19, took first place in both the women’s 100 meter and 200 meter races. Marielle Lewis, ’17, took second place in the women’s 400 meter race. Madison Sheridan, ’17, took third place in the women’s 200 meter race. Sergio Molinar, ’19, placed first in the men’s 400 meter race with a time of 54.86 seconds. Senior Donovan Gomez happily took first in the men’s 800 meter race with a time of 2:05.33. Cecelia Gross, ’19, took first in the women’s 3200 meter race and third place in the women’s 1600 meter race. Joe Messana, ’19, took second place in the men’s 300 meter hurdle race. Also from the class of ’19, Katie Dey took first place in the women’s 100 meter hurdles. Collin Hendricks, ’18, took third place in the men’s long jump with a distance of 16-01.00. Senior Lauren Nowosatka took third place in the women’s pole vault. Charley Hengesbach, ’17, placed first in both women’s shot put and in women’s discus. Senior Jason Russell took first place for men’s 100 meter race with a time of 11.74 seconds. Robi Stuart, ’17, took first place in the men’s shot put category with a throw of 49′ even and won the bet that he made with his coach Kyle, where Kyle will now pay for his meal at States because Robi ran faster than 13 seconds as the anchor in the men’s 4×100 race. The Nouvel track and field team is having a lot of fun during their season so far and are all very excited to continue this season strong, with Panther Pride. Make sure to come out to the meets to support your fellow panthers! The next meet is scheduled for Friday, April 29 at Vassar High School.
