Boys Varsity Golf

Thursday, April 14th, boys golf began with a solid start by beating four other teams at their first match by nearly 30 strokes.  Junior golfer, Christian Haraga led the team with a score of 41 with Jack Grant, sophomore, shooting a 42.  The boys also won their match on Friday, April 15th, against Hemlock and St. Louis.  Senior Blake Heinz and Sophomore Jack Grant both led the team with a score of 45 to win the match by over 10 strokes.  The boys are off to a great start this year with a promising outlook on the rest of the season.  Blake Heinz commented, “So far we’ve been more consistent than last year, so we really have a chance at making states again.”  Their most recent match, Monday, April 18th, against Lansing Christian, was lost by the close margin of 7 strokes with Blake Heinz, Christian Haraga, Jonah Wright leading the team.
