On Saturday December 12th our ladies played away at Dearborn Divine Child and pulled out a solid victory, 69-55. Laurel Jacqmain beat her own personal record, scoring an impressive 32 points. However, this past Wednesday on the 16th, the girls fell short in a close game over Bay City John Glenn with a final score of 48-52. Laurel Jacqmain led the team with 16 points and Maddie Graham with 13points. Our lady Panthers are now 2-1 on the season.

Last Friday on December 4th, the girls started out their season with a crushing 46-28 victory over the Reese Rockets. Their aggressive defense is what led them to come out on top. Senior Laurel Jacqmain finished with nine points, seven rebounds, four steals and two assists, while Senior Maddie Graham finished with ten points and six steals. Allie Buckingham had nine points, two steals and four blocks. Charlie Hengesbach added eight points, and McKenzie Domine added six more points with seven boards.

Their next game is home against Bullock Creek on Monday December 21st at 7 o’clock. Make sure to come out and support!

The Nouvel boys basketball season is now in full swing. The team has now played a total of four games. The most recent game was last Wednesday, 12/16. Nouvel overcame a very competitive Beal City team. Nouvel was able to squeeze out a 49-48 win. Beal City had a 7 point lead at halftime, but Nouvel was able to make a comeback in the second half to take their first win of the season. Senior Jason Russel lead the team with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Seniors Mitch Morley and Taehlor Rapin also scored 8 points each. Nouvel will be playing Bay City All Saints on Monday the 21st. The basketball team is hoping to carry on some of the momentum into this next game. The teams first game after break will be on January 6th against Unionville-Sebewaing.
