On January 22 through January 27, the annual Snowfest took place in Frankenmuth. People from all around came out and ice sculpted including some Nouvel students. Jenna Sikorski, Allan Frank, Nick Thomas, and Luke Lipinski all went for the first time to participate in this event. They went with Mr. Rocha and were given a huge block of ice about nine feet tall and six feet wide. First they had to cut a lot of it off and then start shaving it into a shape. They said they made an Aztec monkey. They were given two days to finish their sculptures and were given 12 hours for the first day and 10 hours for the second day. They finished in 16th place which is not bad considering it was their first time going. Nick Thomas tells us, “Despite the cold weather, it was a marvelous time; I would definitely go again and recommend everyone to go.”
