In week eight of the 2013 college football season, seven out of the top 15 teams in college football suffered losses. There are still 10 undefeated teams in college football.

Local Teams
Michigan- Michigan won in a high scoring affair against Indiana, 63-47. Devin Gardner had his best game of the year throwing for 503 yards and two touchdowns. Jeremy Gallon broke the Big 10 record in receiving yards. He had 14 catches for 369 yards and two touchdowns. Michigan improved to 6-1 on the season. They are heading into a bye week, but if their defense does not start playing better they are in for a long end to the season.
Michigan State- Michigan State beat Purdue 14-0 to improve to 6-1 on the season. Michigan State’s struggling offense only scored 7 points while their defense had a touchdown. Michigan State is now 3-0 in the Big10, and play Illinois, who has yet to win a conference game.
Eastern Michigan- Eastern Michigan suffered a big loss to its football team this past week. Junior receiver, Demarius Reed, was found shot to death in his off campus apartment. This was a very emotional loss to this football team. Eastern Michigan played Ohio University and lost 56-28. Eastern Michigan has lost six straight and is now 1-6 on the year.
Western Michigan- Western suffered its eight straight loss this past weekend to Ball State and is still winless on the year. Western is struggling to score points and Eastern Michigan and UMass might be their only chances to get a win this year.
Central Michigan- Central lost to Northern Illinois this past weekend 38-17 and struggled to stop star quarterback, Jordan Lynch, who threw for 271 yards and rushed for 316 yards.

Game of the Week
UCLA at Oregon- UCLA heads to undefeated Oregon this week. Oregon high powered offense is led by QB Marcus Mariota.  UCLA is led by QB Brett Hundley.
Prediction: Marcus Mariota will continue his Heisman campaign and Oregon will win 56-42.
