Tennis is doing well. As a team they are 9-1, taking their first loss against Garber, yesterday. Senior Sean “The Brawn” Kelly is undefeated as number three singles, and the duo of Sophomore Taehlor Rapin and Junior Stone Kelly are also undefeated, as number one doubles. The team is playing Flushing in an exhibition on Monday, and they are playing at Carman-Ainsworth on Tuesday, as part of their regular season. Sports scientists project that the powerful Panthers will triumph in their region this year. I heard from a guy that Sean Kelly would get full facial tattoo of a tennis ball, if the guys win states. Good luck Guys!

The boys’ varsity soccer team has faced a challenging season, but continues to look ahead with a positive attitude. The 1-0 loss against Garber High School on Thursday was well fought. Matt Gembrowski, the goalie, had many saves and kept the guys going throughout the game. The captains, Nate Garpiel and Hugh LeFevre, are helping their team overcome the recent struggles of the season. The game to watch out for will definitely be the one against Valley Lutheran on October 5th. Even though this is the day of Homecoming, please try to come out and support them!

Nouvel girls Varsity volleyball is still working their way to the top. The girls had a tri on Monday at Bullock Creek playing against Birch Run and Bullock Creek. They took second, beating Birch Run but losing to Bullock Creek in two close games. They have all been working very hard at practice and it has definitely paid off. They are working extra hard for their tournament this Saturday at St. Louis. They are hoping to win this tournament and show up ready to play! After their game on Saturday, they have plenty of time for more practice to prepare for their next game since it is not until October 9. They will play at Pinconning against Pinconning Area High School. If you get the chance, try to go out and support your volleyball girls!
