Frankenmuth Snowfest

This year, Nouvel artists senior Claire Dijak and Kelsey Grover, along with juniors Morgan Forbes, Elliot Johnson, and Harry Schaffer participated in the Zehnder’s Frankenmuth Snowfest.  Their ice sculpture design consisted of a huge acorn surrounded by three squirrels who appear to be running around the acorn at play. Their piece  intrigued a lot of viewers and added to the great evironment. Nouvel has been involved with this competition for a total of twelve years, and both Claire and Kelsey participated last year. Art teacher Gary Rocha has been there since the beginning, “This years team has a lot of talent, but it all comes down to if everyone shows up”. He later went to say, “We have a very talented artist in Kelsey Grover and I believe that she will definitely put in the hard work to boost the Nouvel team to the top.”   While the team did not place in the top five, the trip was well worth it. Said Grover, “It was hard to grasp that we did not place, but the team and I really put in a lot of hard work and well all had a blast so in the end it was well worth it.”
