Gameday Prep: The Lucky Fish

On March 1st, 2023 the Girl’s Varsity Basketball Team won their first game in Districts 28-26, against Bay City All Saints. At halftime, the Panthers were down 12-21, but they held the Cougars to only five points in the second half to win the game. Some people believe that the difference in the game came down to one fan in particular: a fish.

Martha, the fish, was adopted from Pets Smart right before the game and sat in the student section with Lydia. “My 38 cents turned into a miracle for the girl’s basketball team,” said Junior Lydia Shade.  Sadly, Martha passed away on March 4th, 2023 after the Panthers lost to MLS in the District Championship.
