UPDATE: The Science Olympiad team celebrated a huge victory on Saturday by winning the first place trophy at the Regional Finals at Delta College. The Nouvel team competed against 10 other high schools and took home medals in 18 of their 23 events. This is the 7th year in a row that the Nouvel team has qualified for the State Championships at MSU.

Your Nouvel Science Olympiad team is working through their season. They recently had a competition in Clio and got 9th overall but were bummed because 8th place got a trophy. Lauren Champney states, “Emily Colby and I beat out the A team in helicopter so we were pretty proud of that.” She continues to say that they should have gotten first but their flight log was off, which deducted them 10% off their flight time. This past weekend they competed in Frankenmuth, not doing as well as they had hoped. The difficult competition was a setback for the team. Although they did not do as well as they had hoped, they hope to bounce back at Delta Regionals to qualify for states on February 25th.
