Games to Remember

The month of October is best known for pink in the sports world because teams across the country wear pink to support breast cancer awareness. Ever since 1985, people have been supporting the tradition across the globe, and this week the Nouvel football team will be having the Game to Remember against Montrose where both teams will be wearing some sort of pink apparel. Players from Nouvel will be wearing pink stickers on their helmets with the names of a passed away loved one to remember them. If you plan on attending the game the theme for the evening on Friday will be a pink out. Since Nouvel is all about tradition #TraditionNeverGraduates. Boyd would go on to talk about why we started this tradition of a Game to Remember “we as a whole did not want to limit our game to one group” what he means by this is we wanted to remember more than just the people with breast cancer. “We started this game originally for Tracy Strasz, then a year later we were faced with the death of Adam Puvalowski when we thought to ourselves to open up the game to remember all who have passed away.” The soccer team this Friday will be having their Game to Remember as well before the football game at home, they will be wearing pink headbands to support cancer patients and a black arm band for the remembrance of Puvalowski. All funds raised by the Games to Remember are donated locally either to struggling families, and cancer organizations locally to give back.
