After spending the past three years with the Nouvel Catholic Central community, it is time for Principal John Hoving to start a new chapter in his life. Alexa Wright and Laurel Jacqmain sat down with Principal Hoving to discuss his future plans and thoughts. Principal Hoving will be leaving Nouvel the week after exams and is starting his new job on February 1st. He is the most excited about having more responsibility for retreats, as well as more faith related activities. He is also looking forward to daily mass and having the accessibility to an adoration chapel every day. In addition, he gets to sleep in every morning until 8:30 :) One of his favorite Nouvel memories was when the girl’s varsity basketball team won the State Championship in 2014 and seeing all of the students and fans come together as one. Another one of his favorite memories was the mass mob that took place at Holy Family Church because of how spiritual the event was. He also loved attending the senior retreats, which allowed him the chance to get to know the seniors a little more before they go off to college. Principal Hoving stated,”I will miss seeing people grow in faith; students and staff together because I am so passionate about it.” He also notes,”I hope through all of the changes that take place, no one loses hope. Nouvel will be even stronger going forward with others stepping up and giving their all.”
