Nouvel’s Varsity Baseball team finished up their season on Monday, June 1, 2015, ending with a record of 16-20. Nouvel had high hopes going into the district final, after defeating Pinconning on Saturday, May 30, 2015. With three home runs in the semifinal game alone, hit by Senior, Andrew Champney, Junior, Cameron Fluder, and Junior, Kane Bourbina, Nouvel anticipated a strong outcome. Playing the Hemlock Huskies, the Panthers gave a good fight, but suffered a 0-4 loss. Junior, Cameron Fluder, quotes about the semifinal game, “The offense was clicking on all cylinders, with Alex Millhisler throwing shut out ‘gems’ in the first six innings.” The Panthers had a couple warm-ups, before heading into districts. Nouvel conquered the Durand Invitational, by getting the better of Byron and Durand on Saturday, May 16, 2015. In addition, the Panthers “swept” the Irish of Sacred Heart, winning 9-2 and 12-2. Great season boys!
