 Top 5

1) Cabo San Lucas – Why not go to Mexico? Heritage students have trekked here for their Spring Break, and who would blame them? Cabo has beautiful beaches, is a nice city in general, and is the perfect paradise to spend a week off. It is has scuba diving located there and multiple species of marine life. It is one Mexico’s top 5 touring destinations and it has made it onto our top 5.

2) Cancun – Why not go to Mexico? If you do not want to follow the crowd from the school on Center Road then Cancun is a nice alternative. Located in beautiful southeastern Mexico this place has some of the nicest beaches in the world. When you think Mexico and Spring Break you automatically think Cancun, which is one of the top tourist destinations in North America. If you are thinking about crossing the border, then head to Cancun (or Cabo).

3) Panama City – “The Spring Break Capital of the World.” That is all you need to convince you to go to Panama. 100,000 plus students from high school come to this place to spend spring break and it is truly the grand spectacle of Spring Break in the United States. Panama City Beach is one of the most popular and nicest beaches in Florida, and in the United States.

4) Madeira Beach – Come party with your favorite Nouvel students (minus me) at Madeira Beach this Spring Break. There is a nice beach located on the Gulf of Mexico and is close to the Tampa Bay-St. Petersburg area (Busch Gardens anyone?) So, come chill with people such as Eddie Serrato and Ryan Collins in this paradise.

5) Orlando – I spent my Spring Break here a couple years ago and this place was a treat. It is close to some of the country’s best amusement parks and is drivable to most of the nice beaches in Florida. So if you want to take a picture with Mickey Mouse at Disney, scream down Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket at Universal Studios, chill with Shamu at SeaWorld, and still enjoy the Spring Break beach, then Orlando is the place to go.

Worst 5

1) Saginaw – Well, this is where I am going for Spring Break. If you have the opportunity to get out of your hometown please do so. We have nothing here. My beach will be the Saginaw River. My fun will be Kokomo’s, which probably is not even open on the outside. The Naw is not on my radar but you make sacrifices when trying to pay for college, right?

2) Alaska – The positive thing is that it is probably warmer there than here. Alaska is a great place for people who say “I rather go to a place like Michigan but isn’t Michigan.” Instead of being on the beach you could build a snowman in Anchorage, while asking others “do you wanna build a snowman?” I apologize if you do not like the Frozen reference but do not think about going to Alaska because it is cold.

3) Clearwater – Clearwater currently holds the world record for most days of sunshine with 361 days. However, it has the highest senior citizen population in the United States. So if you want to go where your grandparents go for Spring Break then this is the place for you. There’s more denchers than swim trunks at this place. Clearwater is the home of the Phillies but since Spring Training is over it is no longer interesting…

4) Atlanta – Atlanta is a great place for those Spring Breakers heading to Florida and their car breaks down. You are so close to the palm trees yet so far away. I would rather be on beach sipping on a nice drink than go to the World of Coca Cola and drink some pop (or soda in their land) with the Coca Cola Polar Bear. Atlanta is not nice and I’m sorry MLK, your hometown is not AOK.

5) Detroit – You wouldn’t want to go to Detroit any other day of the year. Why would you want to go to his bankrupt area of land over you 10 days off. Don’t get me wrong, Detroit is practically my third hometown and you might want to get a Tigers game in during your time off. But to spend money in a city that cannot make money is absurd. So, don’t go down to Motown.
