Savannah Himmelein ’15

For the ladies…

Love Me

  1. Take her out to her favorite restaurant, any girl loves food
  2. Tell her you love her
  3. Buy her that necklace or bracelet she’s been dying to get
  4. Her favorite chocolates
  5. Any girl loves a bouquet of flowers

Love Me Not

  1. Don’t forget
  2. Don’t buy the same thing every year
  3. Don’t make her pay for the dinner
  4. No double dates with your friends
  5. Don’t think fast food will win her over

For the Gents…

Love Me

1. Buy him candy, because who doesn’t love candy?

2. If you’re willing to spend a little extra, video games are the way to go.

3. A fresh new pair of kicks or a snapback would most likely be appreciated.

4. Boxers. Every guy needs boxers.

5. A Bdubs date would definitely make his night.

Love Me Not

1. Don’t even waste your money on socks.

2. No sentimental cards.

3. Flowers, like what’re you even thinking?

4. Don’t let him forget to pay for dinner.

5. Don’t make him watch your favorite chick flick with you.

In general…

Valentine’s Day may seem like a meaningless holiday that is not worth the hype. Whether or not people have an optimistic or pessimistic view on the holiday there is a sense of pressure on the special day. Valentine’s Day, the day full of love and heart chocolates can also be a day full of pressure for picking out the perfect gift for that special someone. Hopefully on February 14th the thoughtful gift you have in mind is the right one and not the worst. Some gifts to stay away from this Valentine’s Day: fake flowers, a dinner at McDonald’s, and the ultimate gift of nothing.
