1. Erebus– Pontiac, MI
Erebus is ranked the best haunted house in Michigan as well as #4 scariest in the United States. Known for having the continuous theme of a mad scientist who created a time machine run by humans, Erebus will run you through ancient Egypt, zombie zones, a prehistoric swamp, and an alien circus. The owners, the Terebus brothers have created illusions that tap into human anxieties such as falling, being eaten, sinking, and clowns. On average about 500 people chicken out per year, while at least 70 wet themselves.

2. Phobia House– Plainwell, MI
The Phobia House is a shoe in for giving you a huge scare! Over 100 people admit to wetting themselves per year. Moreover at least 100 tours were stopped because the poor victims were way too terrified to progress on. In the past this haunted house has had people faint from fright, vomit, run to their vehicles while being chased by creatures, and the police had to escort one man to the Psyc ward.

3. Jackson’s Underworld– Jackson, MI
If you are seeking an adrenaline rush you need to go see Jackson’s Underworld! This haunted run will take about 45 minutes to get through while passing every heart racing, bump rising character possible. The ‘actors will not touch you unless you touch them’ rule is enforced quite often throughout the three stories.

4. The Haunt– Grand Rapids, MI
The Haunt is commonly known for its great, memorable actors and mesmerizing mimes that taunt you as soon as you enter their doors. The haunted house includes a large variety of clowns, mazes, creepy characters, and strobe lights.
For the adults with a heart of a child still in them there is a paintball area where you can shoot down zombies!

5. Village of the Living Dead– St. Charles, MI
The set is imaginative, the make up is impressive, and the scare this haunted house will give you is spectacular! As soon as you exit your car the creates will set upon you. This place is not for the claustrophobic; the mazes are small, music is loud, and your senses will be overloaded. You can even take “the last ride” which is where guests can climb into a casket and catch a tour to their own grave.
