Play Recap

This past weekend the Wedding Singer ran in the Performing Arts Center at Nouvel Catholic Central. The play is based off of the movie starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Like the movie this play was fantastic. It is all about how Robbie Hart (Adam Sandler/our own Jason Payne) is searching for love. He gets dumped by his fiancé during his wedding. Robbie starts falling in love with Julia (Drew Barrymore/Bridget Bator) after that but Julia is engaged to a high rolling wall street executive Glen Gulia played by Christopher Joseph Joynt. Julia and Robbie have a ongoing flirtatious relationship throughout the play. At the end Robbie rushes to stop Robbie and Julia’s funeral and sings her a song asking her to marry him. This play was absolutely fantastic. I was laughing at some points, concerned or sad at others. This play was fun for all ages (although with a fair amount of adult humor) and I would recommend it to anyone who asked about it. While watching the play I could tell that the cast and crew were having the time of their lives. Christopher Joseph Joynt had this to say about their time in the play:

“Being in the play was the best decision of my life. I am so glad that I took the opportunity to join this wonderful cast and crew to put on such great show as we did. I am most definitely coming back next year for my senior year in the play.”

As you can see the play was a great success and a big hit amongst the fans. This play was most definitely one of the best plays in the history of Nouvel.
