Right to Life March Attendee
Every year in the middle of January about 400 people from the Diocese of Saginaw get on buses to go to the nation’s capital in Washington DC to march for those who do not have a voice in this world. They march for the innocent lives that are in danger of abortion. The trip is filled with many wonderful and enjoyable times. This year, Nouvel Catholic Central HS was able to represent well by sending the entire sophomore class. The trip started out on Saturday morning when all 410 of us pro lifers celebrated mass with the most Reverend Bishop Cistone of our diocese and after we were finished we hit the road on a 12 hour long bus ride. On the busses we did a variety of religious activities such as praying and watching pro life movies so that was fun. The next morning, we made our way to the National Basilica (which is the largest Catholic Church in the United States) and we celebrated mass and our very own Bishop Cistone was the main celebrant. It was amazing to be surrounded by 1000 to 2000 people in one mass! After mass at the Basilica groups went off and did there sightseeing and then we all met up at the 4-H Center where we all stayed. There, a young woman told her story about how she was raped and chose to have baby. Her story was all the more powerful as her son was there as well. The next morning all 400 of us got up early in the morning and made our way to the big youth rally at the DC Armory where roughly 3000 people were there rocking out for life. Finally, we went to the March itself and together with over 400,000 others we lent our voices to speak out for the unborn.
