After a devastating loss in the district championship last season, the Panther baseball boys are back at it and ready to play. This year, the baseball program looks a little different with only having a Varsity team and no JV team. The team has a lot of fresh talent and as senior Liam Simerson said “it should be a really fun and hopefully successful season.” The panthers had their first double header on April 5th against Valley Lutheran. They won the first game 5-2 but fell the second game 4-2.

After years of not having a softball team here at Nouvel, we finally have one. The girls have combined with Bay City All Saints and had just enough to make a team. There are five girls from Nouvel on the team: Onna Zeleniuk, Jessenia Olascuaga, Lydia Schade, Rylei Muter, and Ta’najah Ferris.
The girl’s first practices consisted of everyone getting back into the hang of softball. They learned how to catch, throw, and bat. Everyone is getting back into it and they think they have a good chance of winning multiple games this season. Their first game is Monday, April 11th at 4pm against Mayville at the All Saints softball field.
Onna Zeleniuk, a junior on the team said “I’m so glad we finally have a team because I bothered Decuf for years about it. Our first game is April 11th and we have an excellent team lined up.”
