Band at the Basketball Game

For the first time in a while, the Nouvel Band appeared at the Girl’s and Boy’s Varsity Basketball game on Friday, January 6th.  According to Drum Major Ashley McDonald, they wanted to pep the basketball teams up and help them get excited. It was a way to get in the spirit for the season because it was the first girl’s and boy’s double header home game.

Riley Mattheis, who’s on the Girl’s Varsity Basketball team, agreed that the band did help get the team excited. “It created more energy and excitement for the team especially since it was close at first. The band helped us keep positive attitudes by playing our school’s fight song.”

“We enjoyed playing in a different environment other than on the football field,” said Derek Baur, “We are hoping that in the future the band can play at more basketball games.”
