Mac-n-cheese is a staple dish for Thanksgiving. Mac-n-cheese is a very filling dish with the perfect amount of cheese. The absolute best mac-n-cheese is when my mom makes it with bread crumbs. I have also heard of some recipes with three or even five different cheeses in their mac-n-cheese. Without a doubt, mac-n-cheese dominates Thanksgiving and earns its spot as the #1 side dish in my book. While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, green bean casserole should not be a Thanksgiving dish. What even is a green bean casserole anyway? I would much rather eat cheesy noodles than eat mushy green beans. Not one can argue that mac-n-cheese is not the best Thanksgiving side dish. Even those who are lactose intolerant will eat it because it is just the best!!

Green Bean Casserole is a classic dish and a necessity at any Thanksgiving dinner. Green bean casserole is a creamy and simple dish with crunchy onions on top and creamy mushroom soup to boost the flavor of the green bean casserole. My mom makes the best green bean casserole simply because she adds bacon to the casserole and everyone knows bacon makes every dish better as it adds a savory flavor to the casserole. It also adds more of a crunch to the already crunchy casserole. I have seen variations on the casserole and some look good like adding mushroom chunks into it and then gross ideas like adding raisins to make it sweeter. I agree with my co-writer in the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But mac and cheese should not be a Thanksgiving dish. I mean it is so heavy and filling and so overly cheesy. Plus it is definitely a summer food, not a fall food. When I think of summer I think of hot dogs and mac and cheese, while in fall I think of sweet treats and turkey.

Which dish do you think is better suited for Thanksgiving?
