This year we have two students representing Nouvel Catholic Central in the Owosso Powerlifting Meet. This meet is a nice warm up before they head to the Regional Meet located at Millington high school. Our two panthers that competing are senior, Alisandro Rodriguez, and sophomore, Alex Wrobel. We interviewed the two boys to see what they are preparing and what they are hoping for in this upcoming meet.

Q. What weight class are you competing in?
Rodriguez: “207lbs, but I look forward to dropping to 194lbs.”
Wrobel: “181lbs.”

Q. What are both of your maxes in the squat, deadlift, and bench categories?

R: “Squat : 385lbs, Bench: 305lbs, Deadlift: 465lbs”
W: “Squat: 405lbs, Bench: 310lbs, Deadlift: 455lbs”

Q. Who is your favorite bodybuilder?
R: “Branch Warren.”
W: “Ronnie Coleman.”

Q. Do either of you believe in rest days?
R: “If your body hurts, or you are feeling tired.”
W: “If you feel physically drained, then yes.”

Q. What are your goals for this meet?
R: “To tear my peck.”
W: “To get better personal records than my last meet.”
