Love is Respect

What does love mean to you?  This year the SADD club of Nouvel is asking that question.  Their focus is on respect in relationships and they hope to educate students on how to approach dating wisely.

SADD is currently working on plans for the year and have many things in store for Nouvel students.  Look for their  Christmas themed video in video announcements this month, plus they plan to show a movie during Catholic Schools Week, and host an assembly for Valentine’s Day.

A few pieces of good advice from loveisrespect.org include setting boundaries for the emotional, physical, and even digital aspects of your relationship, tips on building trust and communication, and even articles about how to define consent.  The SADD club wants students to know that in a relationship, you should never be made to feel guilty, belittled, or used.  Healthy relationships are an important part of life.

In the past, the club has tackled other important, student-related issues such as drinking and driving, and online safety.  Check out this year’s message and spread the word from loveisrespect.org.
