Top 5/Worst 5 Homecoming Grub

Top 5

1)      Genji’s – This is the best in town. When you see the water fountain and smell the Asian cuisine, you know you are in paradise. Enjoy some Hibachi Steak, shrimp, teriyaki chicken, and sushi. Enjoy the live show by well renowned chefs such as Pooh Bear and their funky hats. Get their early before they are all full or make a reservation.

2)      Olive Garden – Me likey breadsticks. Me likey breadsticks. That’s what you’ll be saying when you walk into everyone’s favorite Italian restaurant on Bay Road. Also, you’ll enjoy the salad and nice spaghetti, alfredo, lasagna, and other Italian choices this restaurant has to offer.

3)      B Dubs – Ever since it first opened, this is a hot spot for Nouvel students. This Titabawassee Road restaurant has everything: wings, sports, wings, sports, wings, sports. This is a great place to go grub on some wings. Guys will enjoy the college football and everyone will enjoy the wings: boneless or traditional, mild or Asian Zingl

4)      Chili’s – Chili’s is an underrated restaurant and is one of the best bar and grills in town. Here, there is a variety of grub on the menu: sandwiches, steaks, ribs, pizza, tacos, you name it. There are also some TVs to catch some college football before the dance.

5)      Apple Mountain – A good place to ski, golf, and grub!!! This is a great place to go grub (I know the Homecoming Court will be!) Kathleen’ offers pasta, seafood, steak, chicken, burgers, And much more. This is also a great place to take pictures before you head out for the big dance.

 Worst 5

1) Famous Dave’s – As much as I like some Rich n’ Sassy sauce, this is not a place to take your date. If you don’t want your date saying “Darn, I got this BBQ sauce all over my dress” or your boyfriend saying “what’s this stain on my tie, this Bay Road hotspot is a place to avoid on October 5.

2) Your House – Unless you are having a caterer, don’t eat at your house. Mom’s homemade Sloppy Joes are good on every other day, but not Homecoming night. Besides, you should be out with your friends at the best restaurants causing chaos. It’s homecoming! Whatever you do don’t eat at home.

3) Chan’s Garden – This is a square box located next door to a 7/11 on Center Road. The food’s good, but it’s just too small. Besides, this is a place where people try to take-out, not eat in. If you plan on doing #2 of the Worst, then maybe this is your route. Still, groups should not come here. There are better options in this one horse town. (No offense Saginawesome).

4) Fast Food – McDonald’s, Wendy’s, TB, Burger King? Go grub here after the dance, not before. It’s a good post-dance snack.

5) Tony’s – As much as I hate to say this, don’t eat at Tony’s. Not on State. Not on Center. Not on Fashion Square. Nada. This place is small and crammed. This is a diner, not a place to grub before something you can do for four years of your life. Plus, it kind of smells like cigarettes (as does Bringer Inn), not the best when you are all glammed up.
