Staff Writer<\/em><\/p>\n To begin, we would like to thank all of those who participated in putting together and performing at Oscars this year. The Oscars is a yearly event hosted by Student Government, and this year we raised over $500 at the event.<\/p>\n At the event, we were able to see some great talents shine through. To begin, there was the spectacular “Swim Team” performance that included a group of senior boys that created a beautifully elegant synchronized swimming routine. Other acts included vocal performances by Ryan Fila, Madison Graham, a group of choir kids, Brianna Bivins, Paolo Diola, Marcella Fabiano, Sierra Reitz, Blake Drumhiller, and Mitch Morley. There was also a group of Junior girls that had a spectacular performance of a mash-up from Pitch Perfect.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In addition to the talent acts,\u00a0the main focus of the event was finding out the winners of the Oscars. In case you missed it, the winners are listed below:<\/p>\n Best Dressed: Madison Graham & Mustafa Iqbal<\/p>\n Inseparable Duo: Fatima Iqbal & Shawn Penning<\/p>\n Best Dancer: Gabby Kujawa & Donovan Gomez<\/p>\n Next Picasso: Kaylin Minnec & Conner Lipinski<\/p>\n Trendsetter: Madison Graham & George Adelman<\/p>\n Best Play\/Musical Performance: Brianna Bivins<\/p>\n Breakthrough Performance: Jade Patel & Joey Messana<\/p>\n Congeniality: Libby Towns & Mitch Morley<\/p>\n MVP: Laurel Jacqmain & Jason Russell<\/p>\n Best Teacher Tendency: Mrs. Adelman – “Have a good weekend, I don’t want to hear about you”<\/p>\n Funniest Laugh\/Giggle: Emily Felton & Jacob Gray<\/p>\n Road Hazard: Meghan Matekel & Eric Gosen<\/p>\n Never off the Newsfeed: Catherine Charlton & Christian Mendyk<\/p>\n Best Musician\/Singer: Brianna Bivins & Shawn Penning<\/p>\n Comedy Central: Mallory Benkert & George Adelman<\/p>\n Einstein: Megan St. Pierre & John Radke<\/p>\n Health Nut: Lauren Nowosatka & Christian Mendyk<\/p>\n Everything but the Kitchen Sink: Anna Buko & Blake Drumhiller<\/p>\n Blue and Silver Spirit: Mallory Benkert & Patrick Shabluk<\/p>\n There was also a special presentation to recognize all that Mr. Szymanowski has done for Nouvel over the years. Laurel Jacqmain and Payton Hirschenberger presented Mr. Szym with a Blue and Silver Spirit Award of his own to show our gratitude towards him.
