The Hour of Code is back and revving to go with new activities and games all done with the technological magic of coding. Everyone is welcome even if you have no idea what code is and just want to give it a try.
\n\u201cLast year was lots of fun and 70 some students came,\u201d Mr. Marshall says, \u201cWe get to learn about how coding is involved in the world around us and how we interact with coding on a daily basis\u201d.
\nMr. Marshall will be hosting the Hour of Code but you can sign up with any math teacher in the building. It will be held in the computer lab\/library on Tuesday, December 9th right after school and will wrap up at around 4:30pm. And you don\u2019t want to miss out on the free food and drinks.<\/p>\n

Just in time for the holidays, Google has also launched their own code project on Made W\/ Code called Holiday Lights. This project uses code to program lights on one of the Christmas trees at the White House in Washington D.C. There is a representative tree for every state in the United States and you can choose which tree you want your own special light design to go up on. Along with the Holiday Lights project there are various other coding projects including designing an avatar, creating some sick beats, and if you\u2019re up to the challenge, designing your own snowflake. Also check out stories about how average teens and adults use code in their careers and lives to make the world a better place.<\/p>\n
